Fun into Food Roadshow

As part of Chartwell’s ‘Added Value for Schools’ programme, the Fun into Food Roadshow came to Allerton Grange on Monday 25 September. The whole Year 7 cohort took part in the event in the main hall, learning more about nutrition through the fun and interactive show.

Students got involved by answering questions on what makes up a healthy and balanced diet, as well as understanding how certain vitamins and minerals help our bodies.

The show, loosely based on a well-known ‘90s cooking programme, saw the Red team compete against the Green team in the cooking challenge. Two students on each team paired up with a teacher, Mrs Smith from PE with the Green team and Ms Khendria from Maths with Red. The challenge was to create an appetising noodle dish using 5 vegetables and store cupboard ingredients. The audience voted by holding up a coloured card at the end; well done to the Green team!
