AGS Historians visit Leeds University
As part of Allerton Grange Sixth Form, we work regularly with local universities to give our students some experience of university life and study. On Tuesday 13 March, our Year 12 historians visited the University of Leeds to discover what studying history in higher education would be like.
The day combined learning about history with learning about university. The interactive history taster sessions were highly enjoyable, with our students looking at a range of historical topics as diverse as the Norman Conquest, American Race Relations and the British Empire.
We also had the chance to find out about the admissions process to get into university and the opportunities that students have, as well as the careers that a degree in history could lead to. After a campus tour of the university, our students had plenty to talk about.
Thank you to the University of Leeds for organising such an interesting day.
