Leeds United Festival Winners

A group of girls from Allerton Grange School won the top accolade of “Ultimate Team" at the Leeds United Foundation Festival of Sport. The event, held at Leeds Beckett University at the end of May, saw them compete for first place against teams from 16 other schools.

The Festival comprised of a range of sports including boxing, badminton, netball, football and American football. The girls’ performance on the day was outstanding, despite the hot weather, representing Allerton Grange as a tough opponent when it comes to sport.

Lina Bruzaite, Year 9, was selected for best performer in boxing, winning a certificate and a Leeds United t-shirt. The Allerton Grange Team were crowned overall winners due to their effort, attitude and politeness throughout the day, each receiving a free ticket to a Leeds United game of their choice. The whole team performed exceptionally well, leading to a unanimous vote from the coaches.
