Tie It UP Drama Workshop

As part of preparation and revision for the GCSE Drama written paper in May, students from Years 10 and 11 took part in a workshop with TiE It Up Theatre, a brand new South Yorkshire based theatre in education company.

Our students worked directly with the company director and producer in a practical workshop that explored the set text, 'Hard to Swallow', by Mark Wheeller. Students explored a range of rehearsal techniques that actors use to prepare themselves to play certain roles in the play and created still images of key themes. The workshop highlighted the importance of approaching the set text in a practical way so that students fully understand its performance style, central message and character relationships.
