Drama

In Year 7, students have the opportunity to gain confidence and develop skills as makers, performers and spectators of Drama. Drama is taught on a carousel with Art and Music, meaning that students will be timetabled in Drama twice a year in a 6 week block for 3 lessons a week. In Drama lessons, students will be encouraged to use their imagination to create original pieces of Drama, develop characters and perform regularly in class. Each topic of study will help students to develop key acting skills and techniques.

Topics of study include:

Fairy tales, Telling The Story, Romeo and Juliet, Desert Island Survival, Murder Mystery, and Time Travel

The Drama Department provides opportunities for Year 7 students to be involved outside of class, including attending Junior Drama club, taking part in workshops, going on theatre trips, becoming a Drama Ambassador and auditioning to be in school shows.
