About Us

At Allerton Grange, we are incredibly proud of the vast range of sports on offer both as part of the academic curriculum and after school. Within sport, the Allerton Grange motto of ‘Aspire, Grow, Succeed’ becomes all about improving individual fitness and skills, working together as a team and aiming to reach the top of the leagues in which we compete. Each student is encouraged to develop a strong foundation of physical activity, knowledge and practical experience that will lead to a life-long commitment to maintaining fitness and a healthy lifestyle.

Our fantastic facilities include a large indoor sports hall, climbing wall, tennis courts and fully stocked fitness suite, as well as a number of outdoor rugby and football pitches. We also have specialist equipment used for numerous activities including trampolining, table tennis and boxing, to name a few.

Our talented and dedicated P.E. staff are involved in escorting teams to fixtures nearly every day of the week. They maintain a strong network of contacts with other schools and local agencies who organise sports fixtures and events, as well as supporting our students’ involvement in external clubs. These include Rugby and Football Union (RFU), Leeds United Foundation, Moortown RUFC, Roundhegians RFC, Leeds Rhinos Foundation, West Yorkshire Sport, Youth Sport Trust’s Junior Athlete Education Programme and Sky Sports Academy’s ‘Live for Sport’ programme.

Both boys and girls are encouraged to join a team sport; we compete regionally with other schools in Leeds and West Yorkshire. Further details can be found on the Teams page. Students who represent the school as Sports Leaders work closely with Key Stage 2 pupils from primary schools within the local community.

For after school fixtures, we try our best to accurately estimate when our teams are likely to be returned to school. However, finish times can be impacted by a number of things including late starts or heavy traffic. Registers are left at main reception where parents can view which students are at sports events off-site.

For any urgent or general enquiries, please contact the school via reception on 0113 393 0304 or by emailing agadmin@allertongrange.com
