KS3 Careers

In KS3, students have one session of Planning for Progress per fortnight, delivered by Form Tutors.

Students also hear from guest speakers in assemblies and take part in activities for National Careers Week and National Apprenticeships Week.

Year 7 - Careers and the Curriculum

The focus for Year 7 is Careers and the Curriculum. This links areas of the curriculum to careers, highlighting the transferable skills that are developed and the knowledge that can be gained to support future careers.

Year 8 – Employability Skills

In Year 8, students look at the skills and attributes that are desirable and necessary to succeed in the world of work. They learn about a wide range of skills, look at how they can develop these skills and apply them to different jobs. In the summer term, students have a go at applying their skills to a job application and interview.

Year 9 – Employment Sectors and LMI

Students start to look at sectors of work and some of the job roles that can be found in these sectors. They also have dedicated sessions to look at GCSE Options, challenging stereotypes and why subject areas matter when it comes to their future.
