Drama and Theatre Studies
If you want to study on a mainly practical Drama and Theatre Studies course and you have the self-discipline and determination to improve your knowledge and a passion for the performing arts, then this is the course for you.
You will learn through a variety of practical workshops, theory based sessions, devising projects and production projects, as well as seeing live professional theatre performances.
The focus of this programme of study is to prepare you for all areas of the Theatre industry including classical stage, contemporary techniques and practitioners.
Students with a strong background in/natural talent for the Performing Arts would enjoy this A Level course.
Future opportunities
This course can form a good basis for a career not only in theatre performance, but in advertising, the film industry and even in events planning and promotion. In this course you will be given a range of opportunities to create theatre, both published text based and devised work. The course will help you to develop and apply an analytical understanding of Drama and Theatre. You will be required to analyse and evaluate your work as well as the work of others.
A good range of GCSEs between grades 4 and 9, including English Language and Maths at grade 4 (or above). GCSE/BTEC Drama is desirable. You will be an accomplished, competent and confident performer.
